<h2 class="editor-heading-h2">Technical Advisory Group (TAG) is Seeking Expression of Interest</h2>The Limestone District School Board is seeking expressions of interest from <a href="about:blank" class="editor-link">individuals</a><a href="#_msocom_1" class="editor-link">[EL1]</a>  interested in joining the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) in support of the ongoing Student Census 2025 project.The purpose of the Technical Advisory Group is to provide advice, perspectives, and recommendations related to the design of data collection methods, analysis, and the representation of results for LDSB’s Student Census. TAG plays a critical role in ensuring that multiple and diverse perspectives are applied to the interpretation of data, helping to minimize bias and strengthen the relevance and integrity of findings.We are seeking expressions of interest for the committee for the September 2026 to August 2028 term.  We welcome expressions of interest from all members of the Limestone community, including those who can help us fill the following vacancies:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">One to two parents of a Limestone student(s) who is not an employee of the LDSB</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">A Limestone school administrator</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem">One or more Limestone secondary students</li><li value="4" class="editor-listitem">One community partner member who works alongside LDSB</li></ul>Experience in data collection, analysis, and/or reporting of identity‑based data is encouraged; however, individuals with a broad range of research or analysis backgrounds and/or lived experiences are encouraged to apply. 2026 05 14 Community Foundation Grant for Summer Math and Literacy

LDSB Receives $25,000 Grant to Support Elementary Summer Learning

The Limestone District School Board (LDSB) has received a $25,000 grant through the Community Foundation for Kingston and Area’s Community Grants Program in support of its Elementary Summer Literacy and Math Program.The three-week program supports Limestone students finishing Senior Kindergarten to Grade 3 by strengthening foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics to help set students up for success in the following school year.Grant funding will be used to purchase literacy and math learning resources and to create family engagement packages. These take-home resources are designed to support learning at home and encourage families to engage in literacy and math activities alongside their students.The LDSB is grateful to the Community Foundation for Kingston and Area for their generous support, helping students across the district access this important summer learning opportunity.

Dear Sinclair Families:Happy Victoria Day Weekend! The change in temperatures has been sudden and unexpected! We have been very happy with the outdoor seating options added this year and so appreciate funding from our SAC's BINGO account to make this purchase possible!  ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________For awareness, SAC Bingo funding and some funds from Hot Lunch have been used to significantly reduce field trip costs from K to 8!  ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We have completed one fire drill and plan to do the required additional two firedrills and lockdown drill in the next few weeks. We give educators a heads up about the approximate timing of these drills to ensure that they don't impact special guests or upcoming assessments. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Tickets for the Musical Review on Monday, May 25th will be available to all families this week. Dear Sinclair Families, We had a great Intro to Track and Field event for our Grades 3 to 8 students. THANK YOU to our current School Advisory Chair, Isabelle Quinn and former SAC chair, Lisa Johnson, for their invaluable help on this day. Students competed, cheered, tried to avoid the unavoidable bugs and helped out at events making the day a positive and fun one for all! The Regional Meet will be held on May 28th. Coaches will connect with students about practices leading up to this next track event. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________Don't forget that supervision on the yard does not begin until 9:00 am. Please ensure that your child does not arrive at school before 9:00 am. Thank you!  _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________On another note - don't forget that our school has students who have allergies to peanuts and other students who have allergies to tree-nuts. We are a NUT safe school. We were so pleased to see and hear stories and memories from former students and staff at the 75th Anniversary celebration on the weekend. Given the tradition of music and the arts at Sinclair, this was a perfect spot to showcase a sneak peek of our current Musical Review. Upcoming Family Engagement and Climate Survey

The Limestone District School Board is inviting families to take part in the Family Engagement and Climate Survey. This survey gives families an opportunity to share their experiences with their student’s school and with the school board.The feedback helps us understand what is working well and where we can improve. It also supports schools and school councils in building welcoming, safe, and supportive school communities.The survey includes questions about:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">How schools communicate and share information</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">Whether families feel welcome, included, and connected</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem">Barriers to taking part in school activities, such as time, childcare, language, accessibility, or cost</li><li value="4" class="editor-listitem">Safety and bullying, including reporting and follow‑up</li><li value="5" class="editor-listitem">Licensed Before and After School Programs, including questions to help inform future planning</li><li value="6" class="editor-listitem">Some questions ask about family background to help us better understand different experiences across our communities</li></ul>Participation is voluntary and anonymous. Families may skip any questions they choose. No names or identifying information are collected. Results are shared only as grouped summaries and are used to support learning, planning, and improvement at the board, school, and school council levels.The survey will be open from May 1 to May 11 and will be available online. Families will receive an e-mail on May 1 with a link to the survey. Dear Sinclair Families:Stingers are AWESOME and busy! We went outside today for both recesses and enjoyed play in the damp conditions! In addition to outdoor fun, some of our students attended a Musical practice, played chess in Chess Club or came out to show their interest in Running Club.Today was the final day to hand in submissions for the yearbook year book cover contest. Covers will be voted on by students and staff over the next two days. We will begin with one round of voting and then narrow the choices down to the top 5 or 6 vote getters. Final selection will be announced next week. We hope that students and families are able to drop into our school's upcoming 75th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, April 25th from 9:30 to 11:30 am. As part of this event, you can catch a sneak peek at our upcoming Musical Revue. Students will be performing on stage and showcasing three songs beginning at 9:45 am in the gymnasium. Dear Families,As we enter the spring season and final third of the school year, we are reminded of this season’s promise of renewal and growth, and the key role schools and families have together in supporting student learning and well-being. This time of <a href="about:blank" class="editor-link">year</a> brings many opportunities for learning both inside and outside of the classroom, along with the return of outdoor extracurricular activities. While this week has been very wet and rainy, the warmer temperatures of spring are upon us.  I would like to take this opportunity to share a few important updates with you:P.A. Day – Friday, April 17A reminder to families that tomorrow, Friday, April 17, is a P.A. Day. There will be no classes for students, and we look forward to welcoming them back to school on Monday.Family Engagement and Climate Survey – Coming in MayIn early May, Limestone will be inviting families to take part in a Family Engagement and Climate Survey. The optional survey is anonymous, and families can choose which questions they want to answer.The survey asks about topics such as feeling connected to school, family involvement, safety and bullying, communication, before- and after-school programming, and how technology like artificial intelligence is used in schools.The feedback shared through this survey helps schools and the school board understand what is working well, what could improve, and what may make it harder for some families to take part. Reviewing and analyzing this information helps support safe, welcoming, and inclusive school environments and supports the board’s obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code. The findings support planning and decision-making that promotes equity, well being, and student success across Limestone schools. An overview of the Student Census 2025 was presented to the Board of Trustees at last night’s board meeting.
