Terry Fox's Marathon of Hope

We raised 2601.50 dollars for the 2025 Terry Fox Marathon of Hope. This total is our highest total in 27 years of fundraising for the foundation. Our site has contributed more than 30 thousand dollars in support of cancer research. A sincere thank you for contributions made online or in-person at the Open House. Every dollar was received with appreciation and thanks!

Open House

Thank you for making the time to attend our recent fall Open House. We were thrilled that you were able to see your child's classroom, meet their educators and take a stroll through our Stick Art Gallery.

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day are on September 30th. Please wear an orange shirt if you can. In each of our classrooms, our students will learn why we wear orange on this day. This day invites us to engage intentionally in learning about the Residential School System and the true history of relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada.

It is a time to mourn the children who never returned home, and to honour the Survivors, their families, and their communities.

As we learn, it is essential to recognize and uplift Indigenous resilience and resistance, which continue to shape and strengthen communities across the country.

SOCKtober is an initiative this month. The JEDI club with support from Ms. Richards and Ms. Desarmia will be asking for donations of socks to be given to local shelters and organizations that need them.

Aspects of our Field and Asphalt Project are wrapping up soon. Access to the field will likely occur in late October. This will ensure that the money spent to lay sod will not be wasted by opening the field too early.

Deficiencies in the asphalt and other aspects of the project will be addressed on October 4 and October 11th. Thank you for avoiding the school yard on these weekend dates.

Last week a new School Council chair was elected. The 2025/26 chair will be Isabella Quinn. Congratulations!
